virus classification

Mainly the virus classification is not immediately in the taxonomy of living things.
virus usually only exhibit biological activity in their hosts.
There are 2 types of virus classification- Lwoff''s scheme and Baltimore's system.

Lwoff's scheme

-is largely based on:
1) shared properties (such as the nucleic acid of a virus)
2) Symmetry of capsid
3) Presence of envelope
4) Diemention of viron and capsid

Baltimore's system

-is largely based on:
1) The viral genome
2) Relationship to mRNA
3) The cental dogma of molecular biotechnology

The Central Dogma of Molecular biotechnology
